New Multicultural Business Awards
1 Events Media (1EM) are pleased to announce the launch of an eagerly awaited multicultural awards programme – E3 Business Awards taking place on Thursday 7th February 2013 in Bolton’s Reebok Stadium, an awards ceremony that seeks to celebrate North West companies that are helping to revitalise the region’s economy by making a real investment in enterprise, education and employment.
There will be 12 award categories in total, all of which are free to enter and nominations are now open. Companies and individual entrepreneurs can nominate themselves for multiple awards, provided that their enterprise is privately owned and located in the North West. Applications by people from all ethnicities and backgrounds are welcomed and the closing date for nominations is 4pm, Friday 30th November 2012.
Explaining the rationale for launching the awards, 1EM director Mubarak Chati said: “Like the rest of the UK, the North West economy has suffered as a result of the global downturn but this hasn’t meant that people have given up. Countless companies from all corners of society have shown real determination to keep growing and to keep investing in the future, and it’s in recognition of these dauntless entrepreneurs that we have set up the E3 Business Awards.
“The three Es stand for enterprise, education and employment – three factors that are critical to the region’s resurgence. We wanted to find a way to celebrate those businesses that have stayed competitive in the hard times and kept these factors firmly in mind as they grew. These are the heroes of our local economy – entrepreneurs who have created new jobs and demonstrated their faith in the next generation through apprenticeships, training programmes and close ties with the education sector.
“There is also a strong multicultural flavor to the awards because we believe that sustained recovery can only come about if there is commitment from every part of society. In the wake of a fierce recession, it is vital that we work together and make the most of our collective strengths – things like entrepreneurial energy, technical expertise and good old fashioned commercial acumen. These qualities do not reside exclusively within one single group or blue-chip business elite, they can be found in all our communities, and the E3 Business Awards are there to celebrate them.”
The shortlisted nominations for each award category will be judged by an independent panel of experienced business people from diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds.
